For my first bit of research for helping choose the right animal for my logo, I did some primary research by going to Plymouth aquarium, and having a look at the sea life.
For my laundrette, one of my ideas is looking into sea life. Going to the aquarium helped me to gather ideas for what the logo could look like, and what animals to use.
Walking around, I had to draw some sketches of the sea life that I thought may be most appropriate for my logo. I looked at starfishes to clown fish, to jellyfish.
From some of these photographs, I drew a quick sketch of the sea life.
With this sketch, I looked more at the shapes that construct the fish. As in Illustrator, you have to create these ideas from the build up of shapes.
From this primary research, I got one idea set for my logo. There was a room that was dedicated to jellyfish, and the tank shape reminded me of a washing machine, with the jellyfish looking like they could be the bubbles or the clothing inside.
With this idea, I could create something like this in Adobe Illustrator, and have the tank as a washing machine, and have the jellyfish swimming inside. I think this idea would target families and elderly people more for a laundrette.
